Valvoline Instant Oil Change

High-Mileage Vehicle e-mail campaign

The Challenge ______

A legacy client was looking for a differing perspective for their email communications. I collaborated with our west coast team on this campaign. It was a two-pronged approach.

Send an email reminder to come in for your high-mileage oil change. The follow-up email would be a quiz in order to gather more information on their customer base.

The Approach ______

We started off with wireframes showing a full-width hero, that would contain lifestyle imagery, and aslo bringing in some iconography. The client has not used icons to portray information, as their emails were primarily text heavy in design.

The Design ______

I wanted to incorporate more contrast in these designs. The previous campaigns were very white and seemed washed-out. I also wanted to show clear divisions between information, and create more of the appearance of a hierarchy for easy information absorbtion.

The Takeaway ______

This project was an opportunity to bring in some UX principles and establish a updated aesthetic to their email campaigns. This was the first of a series of this kind of work. They were looking to us for some updated designs for their digital presence.
